MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

A Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support will be held here at Aspire on Friday, the 27 ^th of October!

With September being such a busy month with two of our lodges making a great hit at The Great Holiday Home Show, we decided to postpone the Macmillan coffee morning to October to give it the full attention it deserves.

Every cake and every cuppa means that Macmillan are able to help more people with cancer live life as fully as they can.

This is a cause that is close to all our hearts and we're hoping that this year’s Coffee Morning is as successful as the last. We helped raise an incredible £620 in 2022 and we can’t thank our team enough!

There will be tea, coffee, and cakes as well as a Breakfast BBQ offering bacon and sausage baps.

BUILT ON SUCCESS, AS ASPIRE MOVES TO EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP

Park and holiday homes manufacturers Aspire Park and Leisure Homes is now owned by its employees following its acquisition of a newly formed Employee Ownership Trust. Now all employees with 12 months service are owners of the business through the Trust and share in its financial success.

Founder Richard Watson said, “We have a fabulous team at Aspire and the success of the business is a result of the dedication and talents of the whole team. When we heard about how an Employee Ownership Trust worked it was obvious that we should do this. We want every team member to benefit from our future success.”

The sale to the Employee Ownership Trust ensures a smooth succession, maintaining the stability of the company and creates a lasting legacy for its loyal and skilled workforce within the local Porthmadog community.

Anthony Richardson of Transaction Support Services advised the company on the transition to Employee Ownership Trust. Jamie Hawley of Aaron and Partners Solicitors provided legal advice and Stephen Harding and Cole Ashton of Beever and Struthers advised on tax.

Our homes are often set in some of the most outstanding areas of natural beauty and we would like to keep them that way. At Aspire we strive to reduce our emissions and carbon footprint through efficient manufacturing processes, material selection, recycling and reduced travelling. Sourcing local materials wherever possible reduces emissions from our supply chain.

In addition to this, only FSC certified timbers are used in the framing construction of our homes. FSC is a global, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide. It helps us to do our part in ensuring our forests are alive for generations to come.

Sustainability and efficiency continues on long after an Aspire lodge leaves our facilities. The closed cell structure of the spray polyurethane foam insulation (SPF) we use in the walls and ceilings of our lodges, helps control the movement of vapour and moisture throughout the building, reducing the risk of condensation and mould, thereby sustaining and prolonging the structures life-span as it protects against premature deterioration of the building materials. As an added environmental benefit, polyols (a key ingredient in closed cell SPF production) are increasingly being made with renewable resource-based content such as soy.

This advanced insulation process has also allowed us to increase the strength of our homes while significantly reducing the amount of timber used in comparison to other lodge builders – in some cases as much as 50% less forested timber.

Our timber waste is regularly monitored and kept to a minimum. All off-cuts of framing timbers are kept and stored to be fed into our automatic warm air heating system, which is designed to convert wood shavings, dust and shredded timber into a source of energy – in our case warm ducted air to maintain a comfortable working factory environment in cold months for our skilled workers.

Other timber off-cuts are set aside for our in-house artisan carpenters and decorators to create stunning feature walls and artwork that grace some of our stand-out lodge designs.

We offer the following technologies, some of which can work in tandem with other systems or as stand-alone options:

Solar PV

Solar PV systems convert sunlight directly into energy. Solar PV is the most common form of renewable energy system. We can provide solutions that integrate seamlessly into the design of our lodges. We offer a unique in-roof system which provides a lightweight attractive solution that sits within the roof replacing the roof sheet coverings in the areas installed.

Long and largely maintenance-free product life
Easily available technology
Generation is silent
PV systems are fairly low-maintenance products. Many inverters now have apps that

monitor the generation and will quickly flag up any irregularities

S olar Thermal

Solar thermal systems use the heat from the sun to heat your hot water. Solar thermal systems are robust, simple, effective, have a long life and are relatively cheap to install.

Benefits of Solar Thermal Panels

Take up less space on the roof than solar PV panels
Virtually no/minimal running costs
Simple, reliable technology which can lower energy bills

Air Source Heat Pumps

Effectively a fridge in reverse, an air source heat pump takes in air from the outside and releases it at a higher temperature. The unit looks similar to an external air conditioning kit. The unit physically replaces the boiler, but as it delivers lower temperatures than a boiler, it needs to be carefully designed into well-insulated, airtight homes for optimum efficiency.

Comparatively low running costs
Produces significantly less CO2 emissions

I n addition to the above we also offer electric boilers, green (sedum) roofs and much more. Whilst everyone wants to save money, many others who look towards renewable energy will put a greater priority on cutting their emission and helping lower their carbon footprint. Fortunately, as both the technology and availability of renewable systems becomes more widespread it is possible to achieve both. For example, if emphasis is put on lowering carbon emissions, then utilising a sizeable solar PV system can compensate for non-renewable energy demands. If there is a need for boiler or central heating system replacement, then installing a heat pump will prove to be more cost-effective.

All in all, an Aspire lodge is the right choice where a sustainable benchmark needs to be set. With flexible and customisable options, the path towards net-zero targets is an exciting and aspirational journey we are ready and prepared to take with our partners and clients!

Dear Customers & Suppliers,

It is with sincere regret and a heavy heart that we announce temporary closure of our manufacturing facility, kitchen showroom and offices commencing 24 March 2020. Although we take great pride in the amazing holiday homes we produce and supporting our customers businesses, we accept that at this crucial time it is essential we comply with HM Government directives in response to the coronavirus with immediate effect and we expect to resume production as soon as government restrictions are lifted. Many of the suppliers, holiday parks and transport companies that we work very closely with have already closed; resulting in interruption to the supply chain and naturally moving us to implement these measures.

We know this may cause some disappointment and apologise for any inconvenience. Our priority is to protect the NHS and the welfare of our employees and customers and with the latest guidance from the government, we must honour this and do everything we can to protect our community and to reduce the further spread of the virus.

For those customers who are due to take delivery of a new lodge or for those who are booked in for aftersales care over the course of the coming days or weeks, we will aim to complete your transaction with us as soon as government guidance allows us to do so safely. We are in the process of contacting you directly. All other existing orders are being held in abeyance and we will be in contact to re-arrange your expected delivery dates when our facilities are allowed to re-open fully.

Even though our factory and office doors have temporarily closed, various personnel will still be working to keep the business going in part and to support our customers, suppliers and our workforce in these difficult times. Therefore, the list below outlines the personnel and their roles during the temporary closure:

· Directors: all Directors we will be on call, monitoring phones and emails while working remotely;

· Accounts and Admin: the staff from these departments will be working remotely;

· We will have a skeleton crew at the factory to take deliveries and complete work in-line with PHE guidelines where possible;

· All other staff have been sent home temporarily as per HM Government directives after which we hope to be able to re-open our doors.

Although our facilities will be closed, you can also still visit our website and enquire online should you have any queries.

Our final thoughts are to you all in these unprecedented times. We at Aspire wish employees, customers and suppliers the very best and please stay healthy. Please continue to stay safe, take care of your families and together we will get through this.

Two Exciting New Aspire Models at The Caravan Extravaganza Show - Hull 2018
